Q. Can the paFinder service start looking for a Personal Assistant before I have completed the budget?

A. No. In order for the paFinder to start the recruitment process, they need a budget so that they can determine what the salary for the PA will be.

 

Q. Is it OK for my client to buy a laptop with their Direct Payment?

A. Yes. An individual can use their DP to purchase support that it is going to help them to meet their assessed needs. In the case of a laptop you should factor in the costs of a broadband package, so that they can meet their chosen outcomes.

 

Q. Can I refer an individual to a RIBS broker without letting them know before hand?

A. RIBS ask that all individuals being referred have had this process discussed with them before referral is made.

 

Q. Can someone at RUILS help a service user with their finance? E.G. for eample their financial monitoring returns.

A. Yes, we have 2 financial advisors who can help individuals to complete their returns. They will need to be employed directly by the service user. Call the helpline for more details.
