Pooling Direct Payments

Pooling Direct Payments

When you share your skills, interests, resources or your Direct Payment money then you are engaged in pooling your assets. By putting some of your resources together with other people you can not only enjoy spending time with others who enjoy similar activities to you, but can make better use of your money. For example, paying one Personal Assistant to support and organise a group activity can be more cost effective.

RUILS has been working with individuals who are in receipt of Direct Payments to pool some of their Direct Payment money together to set up a group or to purchase support, services or activities together. This is a very innovative approach that has resulted in the formation of Stepping on Out and the Out and About Consortium in Richmond.

We have now developed a comprehensive guide “Pooling Direct Payments  - Your Ideas, Your Way”. This guide takes the group through the process of setting up, deciding what they want to do, employing someone to help make it happen, choosing activities and maintaining  the group.

If you would like copy of the Pooling Guide, please complete the order form below and send it in to us at RUILS. It is £9.99 per copy + packaging & postage. Pooling Direct Payments Order Form March2011.doc
