Administrator to support the Board
Job description /duties:
This role entails helping the RUILS Chair of Trustees to ensure the smooth running of bi-monthly Board Meetings, Annual General Meetings and to assist trustees in various admin tasks.
Desirable skills /experience:
The candidate needs to be well organised, have great attention to detail, good IT skills and be reliable, a good time keeper and able to meet deadlines.

Job title:
Reading group Co-ordinator
Job description /duties:
to help establish and run one or more groups within a new project called New Horizons, starting with a reading group. The project aims to bring together people with disabilities, elderly people or other adults that access social care who have similar interests or hobbies but may have trouble accessing the kinds of social activities they would like to do, or may have no one to share them with. Initially the project will involve setting up a reading group, but a theatre group will follow and based on our clients’ interests, we hope to expand the scheme to cover sporting events, historical trips, guided walks etc.
Desirable skills /experience:
- Good communication skills
- Ability to talk confidently on the phone and to write motivating emails
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to help a group ‘form’ and get and to encourage people to mix and feel confident in a new situation (although it’s a cliché, we need a real ‘people person’)
- Good organisation skills
- Ability to use email and simple computer packages
- Good at problem solving, ‘thinking outside the box’ and seeing opportunities where other people might see problems
- Enjoy reading a range of books
- Willingness to undergo CRB check and training in awareness of disability and social care issues.
