Come along to our new Creative Writing and Discussion Group (formerly Creative Writing Group), hear from guest speakers, with a view to inspiring your writing. Speakers include Sophie Cloud, Leslie York, Fengqin Dadswell, and Charlotte Seabag-Montefiore.

We will use the first half of the session to hear from our guest speakers and the second half for creative writing tasks.

The group is suitable for all abilities, but is aimed at beginners/novice writers or those who write as a hobby.

The next  dates are as follows:

Monday May 13th, Monday 27th May, Monday 10th June, Monday 24th June

Time: from 2pm - 4pm.

Activity Details

Our Wheelchair Walk has been set up recently in association with Walking for Health, Outdoor Learning, and Richmond Upon Thames Council.

This walk is open to ALL, but specifically designed for those using wheelchairs or with limited mobility. Friends and Carers are more than welcome. 

The idea is to provide a friendly, interesting and most important nature filled walk that wheelchair users and those using walking aids or with mobility problems can enjoy. The entire walk is on paths and has been fully risk assessed. Initial feedback has been very positive and we look forward to growing the group! 


Next Walks: 3rd June 2019 , 8th July, 5th August, 2nd September-

Come along and get involved every Wednesday 11am-1pm. Whether you want to volunteer, or just spend some time outdoors - everyone is welcome!

There is a small parking lot in the cemetery and the 281 and 33 buses stop on Stanley road which is just round the corner.

The allotment has its own gate (half way down the allotments!), raised beds and a gravel pathway making it easily accessible for wheelchairs.

Ignite Me Theatre Workshop - 14 week course
Launching in January/February 2019
A FREE disability friendly, inclusive theatre workshop led by Director Bryony Meteyard.
This Workshop will be a theatre group focusing on Disability Issues, meeting on the 1st, 3rd and 4th Monday of each month in Twickenham- working towards a final performance in May ! Last year the Group performed at the houses of parliament.

Activity Details

Come along to the Crafty Café in partnership with Castelnau Community Centre (CCC) and ARTBOXuk! The café will be facilitated by volunteers from the centre and experienced art tutor, Sylvie, from ARTBOXuk.

The sessions will involve a range of therapeutic arts and crafts, such as painting, drawing, sewing and clay modelling.

You do not need to be crafty to attend, all abilities are welcome and you can even just pop in for a cup of tea and a chat. The centre has a lovely cafe serving a range of teas, coffees and homemade cakes!

The Crafty Cafe runs every Monday from 10:30am-12:30pm (excluding bank holidays and school holidays).

Activity Details

Do you want to get outside, socialise and learn about your local environment? We have teamed up with RB Mind and Frances Bennett to run Wellbeing Walks in different locations across the Richmond borough. The walks will take place on the second Thursday of every month from 10:30am-12:30pm.

Frances Bennett runs the Seeds of Change project for the Parks Team at Richmond council, working to get local people out into the wonderful council run parks and open spaces within the borough! Frances has a wealth of knowledge about the local area and is an experienced guide.

The walks will all be accessible along pathways suitable for wheelchair users. Remember to wear the correct attire for the weather - the walks will go ahead come rain or shine!

Activity Details

Come and join the GoLocal Community Choir Every Tuesday from 11.00am-12.00pm. Have fun and learn valuable techniques which can be applied to your everyday life, including:

• Relaxation techniques to relieve stress, depression and pain

• Breathing and Sounding exercises to ensure good overall health

• Drum circles and drama/movement classes

• Performing at OKMT local concerts.

The workshop will be under the guidance of Music and Voice Therapist, Dr. Margaret Lobo, Founder/Director of the Otakar Kraus Music Trust, Twickenham.

 All abilities welcome. You don't need to be able to read music to attend!

Come along to our documentary club to watch compelling story telling through the medium of film, we will be watching documentaries related to disability, mental health and other thought provoking issues.

We will be meeting every 4 weeks to watch a new documentary and have a short discussion about it afterwards.

The group is suitable for anyone with an interest in film, disability and storytelling- the group is FREE.

Do you want to get creative? Maybe learn some new art techniques or make something special you can take home and keep? Then come along to our weekly arts and craft sessions every Tuesday from 10.30am-12.30pm. You will be able to choose from a range of activities and create various arts and crafts pieces. The sessions will be run by local art teacher Sylvie Freullet from ARTBOXuk, who will guide you through any crafty endeavour!

Ruils supports Together As One, a Twickenham based organisation providing support for anyone experiencing loneliness or social isolation, particularly as a result of mental health issues. Drop in on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 11am- 4:30pm to check it out. Wednesday sessions are organised by Ruils where we put on different activities each week. Come and have lunch with us for a small charge, play some games and meet new people.

Activity Details

Your Say is an informal collaboration of social care service users. It's an open, friendly consultation group which is run by its members. Each month we focus on a particular issue e.g. PIP Assessments, changes to services, budget cuts. We also provide a safe and confidential space for members to raise and discuss their own issues. The group aims to campaign for the rights of themselves and other service users ensuring the voices of those with disabilities are heard. 

We meet the last Thursday of the month from 2-3:30pm
