Run, walk, cycle or create your own unique challenge to raise funds for Ruils' projects and services supporting independent living. With so many events to choose from, there is something for everyone and your efforts will really make a difference!

Taking part in a challenge event gives you a great opportunity to achieve your own personal goals and raise funds to support disabled people across SW London.

     Date: Saturday, 14th May 2022
     Location: Oxfordshire, just north of Reading
     Event: Tandem skydive

     Fundraising target: £450

For the first time ever, Ruils is inviting supporters to join our CEO Cathy for this adrenaline fuelled fundraiser.  We're teaming up with the Skydive Centre to deliver this fantastic challenge just outside of London.

     Date: Sunday 29th May 2022

     Location: London/Essex
     Event: 100m bike ride

     Fundraising target: £400

RideLondon – the world’s greatest festival of cycling – returns on Sunday 29 May 2022, with a new format, exciting new routes and a new partnership with Essex County Council.  The RideLondon-Essex 100 challenge is a unique opportunity to ride 100 miles on traffic-free roads through the heart of London and neighbouring Essex.

The event will start on Victoria Embankment and finish to rapturous applause at Tower Bridge, with 65 miles through some of Essex’s most beautiful countryside and villages in between.

We're looking for keen cyclists to ride, and raise money, for Ruils.  We'll pay for your place and ask you to raise at least £400 for our vital services.

   Virtual London Marathon 2022


     Date: Sunday 2nd October 2022

     Location: London or in the place of your choice
     Event: Virtual marathon - walk or run 26.2 miles

     Fundraising target: £100

The virtual London marathon gives participants the opportunity to cover the 26.2 mile marathon distance however and wherever they wish, as long as it happens on Sunday 2nd October.   Join our team of staff and supporters walking from central London to Hampton Court Palace or do your own thing at a place and speed which suits you.  You'll receive a coveted London Marathon 2022 finishers medal and t-shirt.

   Winter WonderWheels

     Date: Sunday, 4 December 2022
     Location: Dorney Lake, Eton
     Event distance: 1 km, 5 km, 10 km

     Fundraising target: £100

This fabulously festive accessible challenge event is back! On Sunday 4th December, a team of Ruils clients, staff and supporters will take on an accessible challenge at Dorney Lake.  We need team mates – come and join us!  

You can choose from 3 distances - 1km, 5km or 10km - and walk, wheel or run your way around the flat course.  Your challenge, your way!  The event is festive and fun so we'll be wearing capes and masks.  You can take part as an individual or as part of a team of 3.  All individuals, and at least one person in a team of 3, must consider themselves disabled. 

Ruils will book an accessible minibus to take people to the event from The Disability Action & Advice Centre.
