Alan Benson MBE (1969-2023)

We are very sad to announce that Alan Benson MBE, our Ambassador and Chair of Your Say and the Richmond Transport and Mobility Forum, passed away on Sunday 17th of December.

Alan has played such an important role at Ruils. From taking over from our previous Chair, Richard, doing campaigning work, to driving Your Say and the Transport and Mobility Forum. He was also incredibly important to the accessible transport movement and local accessibility work, recently receiving the Freedom of the Borough in Richmond.

His passion and dedication has made the Borough of Richmond and London more accessible and his legacy will have an impact on future accessibility projects.

It is a huge loss for us, Richmond and for the campaign for accessible transport and disabled people’s rights. He will be sorely missed.
